So, why a game?

Here I am blogging again, it's been a hot minute. So, to the title of this post, why a game? Well, gaming has been a huge part of my life and continues to be to this day. I've actually had this idea ever since the days I worked as a cleaner, that the setting would work well in a game. Since that idea, I've decided to make it much more personal than the mystery story I had in mind. So why RPG Maker? Well, I don't need to create something super complicated, and I need to be able to produce my own assets for it. Music, artwork, sprites etc. Ever since I played To The Moon and learned it was made in RPG Maker it's been on my radar as a tool I could use somewhere down the line. When RPG Maker MV popped up on my steam sales radar I thought now would be as good a time as any to get started. Recently I also played Disco Elysium, a fantastic RPG narrative experience. Way beyond anything I could ever make. But the dialogue options, atmosphere and artwork are all something I'm keeping in mind as I pursue this project.
